Frank Lloyd Wright’s Kentuck Knob
The Historic Summit Inn is the closest hotel accommodation to Frank Lloyd Wright’s Kentuck Knob. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in the last decade of his career, Kentuck Knob is nestled high in the western Pennsylvania mountains seven miles south of Fallingwater and six miles from the historic National Road. The home is constructed of native sandstone, tidewater cypress, and copper that blends naturally with its surroundings in true Wright harmony. A sculpture garden with over 35 major works enhances the visitor’s experience, and a former greenhouse now serves as the visitor center, with a small gift shop and cafe.
Visiting Kentuck Knob requires advance reservations, so please don’t hesitate to have our hotel staff help you in planning your Fayette County adventure to Frank Lloyd Wright’s local masterpieces. The Historic Summit Inn has packages to help you experience both Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob with ease and we will always be waiting for you with a sunset martini on the Veranda.
